The Art Studio

It's no secret that I am a staffer on the BEST online scrapbooking magazine around. Well things are about to get even more interesting. Starting in July you'll be able to take all sorts of classes from scrapbooking to, cards, journaling and mixed media. We have spun off a classroom called The Art Studio
There is something for everyone. I'll be teaching some too. At the moment I have 3 classes available.
Use Your Scraps
How To Use Modeling Paste On ANY Project
and
All About Resists

But don't just stop there. Look around, see what is offered. There are some fantastic teachers ready to go.

I hope to see you all over there.

Have a great day

ReCreate

I love scrapping challenges that I find on the internet. I have so many I want to do and it often seems like no time to do them. However when I saw this month's challenge over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles I knew I had to do it.

The challenge was to create a layout celebrating groups. I'm lucky enough to belong to one of the most fantastic groups of artsy ladies out there. Even better the challenge was sponsored by Donna Downey, who I have had the privilege of meeting in real life ( and boy is she a kick). The second part of the challenge was to cluster some embellishments, which I did with Prima flowers.

Inside the kraft paper bag I tucked a tag with all my journaling. It reads
The internet is a huge and scary place. At the same time it opens doors to people you would never meet otherwise. Such is the case with our amazing group. We all started out online as friends in a chat group. We'd been online together for several years, Inspiring, Praising, Uplifting. We became close as family. Finally we decided to get together in real life. A few at first then our gatherings grew and grew. In May of 2011 we got to get together at Donna D's studio for a weekend of scrapping and gabbing.
From all over the country, all ages, all different backgrounds, and still... We love each other. Our "virtual" family has become our real life one. My PAO sisters...I wouldn't give them up for anything

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Be Yourself

As my daughter gets ready to graduate High School I keep thinking of advice for her. Luckily she is very self assured and confident in her being.
Still using a self portrait I wanted to remind her to always "Be Yourself".

The paper and stickers are from 7 Dots Studio.  Some glimmer mist, ink with a Crafter's Workshop stencil, staples and raffia to finish it off. Sometimes less is more when it comes to a page.

This layout was featured in the March issue of Scrapbook News and Review.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Bubbles

One of the layout sizes I like to do occasionally is 6x12.  The size is a refreshing break from 12x12 but still gives me lots of room to work.

This is the little one chasing bubbles while at her sister's soccer game. Far more fun to do that than sit still for an hour.

The paper is Simple Stories. The layout was featured in the March issue of Scrapbook News and Review.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Hocus Pocus

My most favorite witch out there.

Dry embossing using a Sizzix plate, the design on the plate reminded me of spider webs, and every witch needs some spider webs. Since a 12x12 sheet of paper doesn't fit in my Cuttlebug I opened the plate up, put the paper on it and rubbed with a stylus until I was happy with the embossing. I then rubbed a bit of ink over the embossing to highlight it.

Mist was heavily sprayed in the upper right corner and allowed to drip down, same for just under the photos. A banner was cut from Pink Paislee paper and machine stitched on to the layout. The title comes from a Pink Paislee felt accent.
