Craft Hoarders Anonymous CHALLENGE 6….Sketch with a twist!

It's time for another challenge at
Craft Hoarders Anonymous!

Challenge #6
Use the sketch below as inspiration for creating your project. You can modify the sketch to create a card, scrapbook layout, altered canvas, mini book cover, and so on. Now, for the TWIST! You must search your hoard and find one item that is OLD and one item that is NEW and use them BOTH on your project. Show us how you combine older items from your stash with something recently purchased.

In my world sketches aren't just for cards and layouts.
Often I'll use them as jumping off points for journal pages, ATC's,
and in today's piece, canvases.

So here you go…
an 8x10 mixed media canvas using the sketch as inspiration.
Several pieces of patterned paper by Hampton Art
were torn and layered on my canvas base.
A thin washof Gesso followed by the addition
of lots and lots of color & pattern.

Tattered Angels Plain Jane Baseboard in Fire was
misted through a new Crafter's Workshop stencil.
Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise through another CW stencil.
The stamped sentiment is from a Hampton Art set for 7 Gypsies.
The pink paper is from a 6x6 Hampton Art paper pack.

Background stamping with a Prima stamp & Archival Ink in black.
More background stamping with a Hampton Art script stamp.
The doily was colored with Gelatos before being added.

Washii tape.
Modeling Paste through another Crafter's Workshop stencil.
The paste reactivated some of the mist and absorbed some of the color as it dried.
Prima Flowers are my something old and were scattered along the canvas.

The chipboard (also a new) is from Blue Fern.
I colored it with Gelatos to match my canvas colors.
Below is an angled view to give you and idea of the dimension

Christy, I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this canvas. Something about it reminds me of a Claude Monet painting...so soft and pastel...filled with wonderful texture and elements. It's my favorite project of yours yet. You are soooooo talented!
