Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge 13!!!!! Let's Cycle….Up-Cycle That Is!

I'm back!
Yay!!!!
After 4 weeks of being unable to craft with a partially separated shoulder
I am back to creating again (though I did need a little help from the 7 year old).

Just in time too because it's time for another challenge from

Challenge 13
                                                         Let's Cycle...Up-Cycle That Is!
Being frugal and going green is what it's all about. Show us how you can up-cycle something using "junk" from your hoard. Most craft hoarders also hoard boxes, tins, packaging, and bits of this and that. Our mantra is, "I can MAKE something with that!" Now is your chance! Up-cycle!

This month we are lucky to be sponsored by 2 of my favorite companies:
Here is my creation.
A 6x 12 canvas where I up-cycled many things, using them as part of my canvas, or as stamping elements.
Keep scrolling as I show you a step by step on how I created this piece.

Supplies:
Paper, Tag, Packaging: Canvas Corp
Glimmer Mist, Stained Glass Glaze & Key: Tattered Angels
Stencil: Stencil Girl Stencils
Collage Image: Crafty Secrets
Acrylic paint: Golden
Gesso: Liquitex
Other: Window Screen, Bottle cap, dry cleaning tag, book text, cardboard, Doily, Tulle from a Halloween costume

Here begins a step by step:
First I covered a Canvas Panel with a piece of Canvas Corp paper.
I love the graphic black and white of this, to tone down it in some spots I scraped a bit of Gesso over it.
I misted randomly with Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels (a Canvas Corp company)
in Trunk Bay.

Randomly applied some old book text.

Using a scrap piece of window screen I painted black Acrylic Paint through it.
I didn't worry about being heavy in spots and light in others, it all evens out.

Added some polka dotted packaging from a Canvas Corp package of tags.
Worked well in keeping with the black and white from the paper and paint.

I used some Stained Glass Glazing Medium from Tattered Angels
and a stencil from Stencil Girl stencils to add another layer of color.
The medium is fairly translucent and added just the right amount of color and pattern.

A tag from Canvas Corp and a piece of cardboard misted with the same color
Glimmer Mist as is on the background were layered on.

Collage image from Crafty Secrets.
How fun is this vintage image?
Then some stamping with a bottle cap and Acrylic Paint to add another layer.

Closeup:
A doily from a cookie treat was cut up and added.
Some Rub Ons from Kaisercraft to help bust my stash.

Here you can see the addition of a dry cleaning tag and lots of little Prima flowers, colored with th same mist again.

The tulle came off an old Halloween costume that no longer fit.
Perfect addition to my canvas.
