Journey Through the Past...

I was browsing YouTube the other day just watching

mixed videos. 

Hopping from one to the next when I stumbled on to an oldie but goodie

A 3 x3 album made with 1 sheet of paper, yes you read that right…1 sheet of paper.

I have made these 3 x 3 albums before but never with the addition of the pockets.

A new twist on an old favorite and I had to play.

I used a piece of 7 Gypsies map paper from my stash.

I felt the old time vintage look of it would go perfect with the theme.

Pulled out some collage sheets with vintage images and went to work.

The initial album goes together really quick.

A few folds, some cuts and add some tape to hold the edges...

Voila!

a 3x3 album.

The fun part became the adding of images and embellishments.

Lots of collage images...

Little bit of stamping...

Pulling out Rub Ons that have sat in my stash forever...

Metal doodads...

Foreign stamps...

and remember I said it had pockets.

Well those pockets need something to go in them, 

so I made 3 tags to go along with the vintage theme.

These albums are so much fun to create.

Off to think of another theme.

another Halloween album...

I am really enjoying making these mini albums.

The 6x6 size is perfect to work with and with all the 

flaps and tags tons of room for photos and journaling.

This one is created using Bazzill card stock

and My Mind's Eye paper and embellishments.

The album is held close with a seam binding ribbon.

Christmas Mini album...

As someone not too kindly reminded me...

Christmas is on the way.

Now I could be mean and tell you how many days exactly

but I am of the "ignorance is bliss"

mindset so I won't.

Usually I procrastinate right up to the last minute but this time 

I was inspired while looking through my old projects.

I made a couple of these albums several years ago (but never Holiday themed)

and thought why not?

All the supplies came from a Swirlydoos Christmas kit (think last years).

It has tons of space for photos, journaling and more. 

Tags and pockets provide even more space.

File Folder Mini Album

Once upon a time I saw directions on how to turn

a manila file folder into a mini album 

using your sewing machine.

Now as I am all over anything that encourages me to use my machine 

I had to make several.

This is the second one I made and as it is September

I went with a school theme.

The base is a manila folder and I used quite a few collage elements from 

Gauche Alchemy 

as well as bits and bobs from my stash.

Layering the front with paper and fabric.

I left all my thread tails dangling.

The Number 1 comes from 

Club Scrap.

Inside the first 2 pages.

Used more stitching to make pockets where I added school theme tags.

Next 2 pages.

More tags, ruler bit, book text and more.

Closeup of some of the library cards etc that were used.

The flash card was covered with Gesso and inked 

leaving plenty of room to journal if wishing.

The back page.

Dictionary pages mixed with fabric 

and machine stitching.
