will share projects and offer inspiration on ways

to use your hoard.

Today I am sharing an art journal page.

The background started when I used the page to clean paint off my brayer

during a Gelli Printing marathon.

I often keep blank paper nearby for just such a purpose,

instant backgrounds for future projects.

I added Washii tape, lots of stenciling,

including this awesome text one by Stencil Girl stencils,

and my 3 hearts (for my 3 girls)

January Hop with Craft Hoarders Anonymous

on how to use up your hoard.

received new supplies to play with.

Today I am sharing an Art Journal

page I created using masking tape, my hoarded mists, some stamping,

and machine stitching.

I recently watched a video on YouTube by 

Magda Polakow which inspired my page.

I used mists from Lindy's Stamp Gang and Tattered Angels for color.

Black Gesso added after to tone down some of the white that still existed.

Seeing as I was working on scraps of paper from the scrap bin I needed to sew them

together into my final page.

A few word stickers and a new page for the beginning of 2016 is done.

Craft Hoarders Anonymous December hop!

Welcome everyone to the December Hop

This month I created my very first pocket letter.

For those of you who are wondering what exactly is a pocket letter, let me show you.

I took a trading card sleeve and filled it with 9 winter themed ATCs.

The backs of the sleeves have goodies, chocolate, and a letter tucked into them.

Pocket letters are all the rage right now being traded all over the globe.

This one is heading out in the mail today to it's destination.

I kept an overall theme of blue, white, winter and snow throughout my cards.

November Hopping with Craft Hoarders Anonymous

                                    Welcome everyone to another hop with the ladies of 
                                           Craft Hoarders Anonymous.
       Every month on the 5th we share ideas on how to use up your stash and get creating again.

Here is my project for the month.

I did four 8x8" textile collages using a mix of fabrics, papers

and scrapbook embellishments from my stash.

I added batting and backing to turn these collages into mini quilts,

which can be added to a fabric journal or hung on a wall.

Each one took only a few hours to complete.

They are a great way to use up lots of bits and pieces you have lying around.

This is my first collage.

I incorporated some metal and paper embellishments with my fabric flowers.

The background is stamped with a script stamp and StazOn ink.

The flowers were outlined with black glitter glue for a little sparkle.

Machine stitching added a little bit of texture.

The next collage started on a piece of Damask fabric.

Scraps of sewing pattern paper and fabric collaged on over.

The lace was cut from an old handkerchief.

Distress ink was rubbed over it and dried.

Kaiser craft flowers were added.

Rub ons added to a paper tag.

A paper butterfly diet was added in

the upper corner.

The red and black piece started from sewing scraps

of the same color families randomly onto a base.

Metal embellishments were mixed with paper ones. 

A fabric softener sheet was painted, cut into strips & sewn on.

Metal flowers and leaves were added over a dry cleaning tag,

and a paper tag.

Rub Ons added some words.

The fabric softener sheet which was painted & cut.

Woven then attached to the collage with machine stitching.

On the last collage scraps of vintage plaids and stripes

were collaged onto a base.

Mixing in lace, sheet music, lots of scrap embellishments and 

modeling paste.

A resin piece, paper tickets, Pink Paislee banner 

all added.

The image is another one from Tim Holtz.

Modeling paste added through sequin waste and colored with ink.

A piece of thin fabric was laid over the whole thing.

I then went through with my heat gun and melted it in spots.

Glimmer mist flicked on as a final addition.

These were so fun to make.

Pull out all sorts of items and collage away.

October Hopping with Craft Hoarders Anonymous!

It's time for another hop with the ladies of 

Craft Hoarders Anonymous.

This month I used up a bunch of hoarded Gelli prints

and turned them into art journal pages for an upcoming swap.

I have such a large stack of prints that I barely made a dent in it with this project

Here is a small overview of several and below are closeups of the pages.

This first page is a pink and black base using Stencil Girl & Crafter's Workshop stencils.

Once the stars were added,  some Liquitex acrylic ink was flicked  on

and misted with water to make some drips.

The next two use a variety of stencils and multiple layers

of paint over Gelli prints.

Rub ons and Washii tape added as accents.

A blue Gelli print base combined with 

book text also gel printed to create this heart page.

The inside of the heart is lined with an Intense pencil and the word was stamped

and traced over with an acrylic paint marker.

Some Washii tape, stamping and coloring were added to this Gelli print.

The stamp is from Donna Downey,

once stamped it was traced over with an acrylic paint marker and colored in with Pitt Big Brush markers.

Another blue printed base with various

Liquitex Acrylic inks dripped down.

Rub ons were added and the heart was cut from another piece of Gelli printed book text.

The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of Gelli printed tissue paper.

Last page share.

The base is another Gelli print.

The larger blue circles were cut from a piece of Gelli printed tissue paper.

(I love using my Gelli plate with tissue paper, you get added depth from the wrinkles in the paper,

and the layers blend seamlessly in collage)

My project this month is an altered deck of playing cards.

I joined a swap with Jessica Brogan called the 

Inspirational Card Deck Swap.

Alter 52 cards, send them out and get 52 back.

How fun is that?

To create my cards the backgrounds are all from my underpapers

(the paper I cover my desk with to catch errant paint, mist, and stamping)

I added some more stamping, Sewing pattern paper,

Wasii tape etc...

Some cards have embossing 

(to allow me to use pigment ink which NEVER dries on paint)

The hearts on some of the cards were created by cutting 

free hand from painted pieces of book text.

I have tons of sheets of word stickers

so I would cut them up to say what I wanted, AND 

make a huge dent in my stash

52 cards sure is a lot.

They all measure roughly the size of ATCs.

That is 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

Almost to the end...

To finish them all off I flicked watered down acrylic paint

over them all.

I love me some splatters.
