It was my turn to play this week over at Swirlydoos in the round robin challenge. For those of you who don't know what those are it's kind of like telephone....but scrapping. Someone posts a layout at the start of the month and each week a new person puts up their take on it.
This is my daughter while visiting Rome this summer. I used some flocked rub ons, which I am NOT a fan of. In the rub on world these are not the easiest things to use. I had to do a little creative covering up when some of them didn't adhere right and tore my paper.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Today
Today...you mastered the monkey bars all by yourself.
After much hard work, many falls and lots of screams for MOM!!!!!!!! you did it.
Gesso was used behind the photos for contrast with some stamping with a Club Scrap stamp. Washi tape added as an accent. Love my tape.

See Saw
Layout was featured on the Scrapbook News and Review blog. The 2 younger girls on a see saw in Krefeld, Germany. Part of the joy we have when traveling with the kids in finding places in other countries where they can do things like other kids their ages.
I have to say the playgrounds in Germany were heads above any we have here. The girls spent hours on them whenever we stumbled across one.
The supplies: Cardstock: Club Scrap; Patterned Paper: Lily Bee Design, Jillibean Soup; Letters, Stickers: American Crafts; Banner: Heidi Swapp; Ink: Prima; Mist: Lindy's Stamp Gang

Brrrr
So with summer firmly in hand here in the South and temps in the upper 90's every day I get a little bit nostalgic for winter. We get snow maybe once every other winter and 2 years ago we got a good snowfall. The youngest wasn't quite sure what to make of it and spent hours outside in layers of clothes (no snowsuits-we don't have them).
The paper is BoBunny. Snowflakes are stamped using Distress ink. The simple frame around the picture is made using Washi tape.

Just Fly
I love browsing Pinterest. One of my favorite categories to pin is inspiring quotes. This quote has been sitting on my computer for a couple days now. I knew I wanted to showcase it but struggled with exactly how.
Also sitting on a desk was a friend's art journal that I needed to work in. Usually I fly through these, open them up and know exactly what I want to do. Not this time and it was turning into a major source of frustration. How do you fix this? For me I started by adhering a bunch of painted paper towels with gel medium onto a watercolor paper base. Over the blank page syndrome and still it sat there.
Pulled out a Crafter's Workshop stencil and Liquitex yellow paint. Add some diamonds, and it sat some more...This is turning into the longest art project ever (for me at least)
Then it struck, I love how inspiration does that, usually when you are least expecting it and most often at an inopportune time. For me I was smack dab deep in working on my Modeling Paste class that is coming up over at The Art Studio. Here I am smack dab elbow deep in paste and I HAD to work on this page. I couldn't do anything else until I did.
First came my bright yellow sun using Pink Paislee paper. I cut random strips, adhered them down and added a center circle. With my fine sharpie I added stitching on the rays and around the page.
My bird came from a swap some time ago made with fabric paper. Added him and some legs, stamped the hearts and added color to them with Pitt Pens. My bird needed some grass to stand on so more paint.
And FINALLY my quote
it was laying on the desk waiting for the perfect project and the perfect project came up.
I hope my friend loves this as much as I do. It makes me smile every time I look at it.
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by.

Strong
This is for the monthly scrapbooking challenge over at PAO. As always there is 3 options on how you can play. One of them this month was to use either stencils or masks on your layout. I read no further. I knew what I was doing. I found this self portrait on my daughter's camera and knew I HAD to showcase it.
Starting with a piece of watercolor paper that I cut to 12x12. I sprayed it liberally with 3 colors of Starburst Sprays by Lindy's Stamp Gang. Blotted with paper towels, dried and then spray with the same colors again, this time adding some black as well. I lifted the paper vertically while wet so the colors dripped and streaked. Dried again with my heat gun.
Once totally dry I started laying stencils on the paper. Spritz with water, wait 10 seconds for the mist to reactivate and blot with paper towels. Gives you the look of bleach without the bleach. I used 4 or 5 stencils on this page just because I like the randomness of it.
A little bit of machine stitching and some Grungebord letters to finish it off.

My Valentine Baby
I always joke with my middle daughter. Having a birthday on February 14th means no one can ever claim to have forgotten.
I like to find random objects around the house and recycle them onto my scrapbook pages. This time around I incorporated a piece of Prima packaging and a page I tore from an old book.

She is clothed in strength...
This Proverbs quote is so perfect for my oldest. Despite her battle with Type 1 diabetes she always greets each day with a smile. There isn't anything that she won't try.
While looking through a stack of photos I came upon this one from 12 years ago while down in Disney. It went perfect with the quote. It's hard to believe that this year she turned 18, graduated high school and will be heading off to college.
