National Scrap Day Gelli Print Challenge

National Scrapbook Day is May 4th
Over at Paper Artists Online we are having a weekend long cyber crop full of all sorts of challenges covering all the paper crafts.

I'm hosting the Gelli Print challenge. Recently we had a swap of Gelli Prints on the site and I wanted to encourage everyone to use what they receive back in the mail.

I created this step by step Art Journal tutorial using a Gelli Print as a background.
I love incorporating the prints into my art, everyone becomes unique in it's own special way. You can use them as is, or add more layers as I did once the paint is dry

First: My Gelli Print

I then stamped randomly with a script stamp and solvent ink.

Some stenciling with Crafter's Workshop stencil and Prima ink (Old Road).

Old canvas letters from Prima I rediscovered recently. Misted with Turquoise Metallic Maya Mist and adhered down the side of my page.

Some stamping with Faber Castell Big Brush Stamper and bubble wrap.

I added my quote and then for a final pop of color added some Eggplant ink through sequin waste.

CREATE!

Some closeups:

Notice all the pattern and texture on the background...I LOVE IT!

I'd love to see what you do with this tutorial.

Feel free to join us over at PAO or link up your creation in the comments section below.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Creating!

Great journal page. Wish I had a gelli plate to do the challenge. Check out my last journal page here:

If you don't have a gelli plate, try making your own.

Or even put some paint on a non stick craft sheet, press your paper on it and make your own mono print.

All about adapting lol
